Scanning and Digitisation

We have fully developed our scanning capabilities and are able to produce high quality scanned images. Using patent-protected software, books and documents can be digitally ‘cleaned’, removing the yellowing of age and any other blemishes picked up during their lifetime and used to create online resources.

Thanks to our skilled and experienced bookbinders we can disbind books if required for scanning with minimal intrusion and rebind back to their original state or in a new or conserved housing. We also facilitate scanners that can scan without the need for disbinding most books. Facsimile copies can be digitally printed at our Huddersfield location and bound at either of our two binderies. HP Indigo colour or monochrome digital book printing

In April 2008, we commissioned our new digital printing facility based in our Huddersfield bindery. We have now printed many books both newly published and reprints or republications. This new facility is ideal for producing facsimile reproductions in limited numbers and we are frequently asked to print just a few copies of local street and trade directories for local history libraries which are proving very popular, as an electronic copy can be delivered as part of the package in PDF format.
