Scanning and Digitisation
Interest in our scanning services is ever-increasing as custodians recognise the possibilities to increase access to valuable or in-demand items.
In many cases books can be scanned without the need for dis-binding, allowing for the safe capture and reproduction of information.
Once scanned information is processed and can be stored and viewed electronically or it can be used to create a facsimile reproduction.
Our specialist equipment and trained staff can reproduce a complete book: from the digitisation of the original, to the printing and binding of a new version. We offer a range of binding options and can even create a binding sympathetic to that of the original.
Popular documents can be scanned and, copyright permitting, reproduced for sale in visitor and gift shops, not only enhancing the visitor experience but also providing a source of income for your organisation. To discuss this further, please contact us.
We can produce scans up to paper size A0 (841mm x 1189mm). More than one scan can of course be joined together for larger works where needed.
