Paperback Rebinding
Paperbacks are easily damaged, particularly if being handled by children and youngsters.
Reinforcement prevents corners from becoming dog-eared or torn.
All of our reinforcement options include a laminated cover which, not only helps strengthen the book, but also creates a wipe clean surface.
We can also replace the publisher’s original binding (available upon request) which increases the strength of weakened or poor bindings.
Reinforcement Options
Flexi-cover
The original paperback cover is reused, laminated and trimmed. New end papers are not added as standard but can be incorporated when requested.
Traditional/Scenic
The paperback is reinforced and bound using white lined boards and covered with laminate. We can either reuse the original cover or produce a facsimile. New end papers are added to allow for library stationery to be added. The spine lettering can also be reproduced if requested.
Paperback Flats
Again the paperback is reinforced and bound using white lined boards. The lettering on the original spine is typed and reprinted before being covered with a laminate and either the original or a new cover can be used. This option also provides new end papers to hold library stationery.
We always recommend reinforcing books as a preventative measure, before they have sustained any actual damage.
