Mounting and Encapsulation
Protection and support processes available:
Matt lustre lamination: Offers suitable protection for posters and more modern maps - this process is reversible.
Mounting on linen: Offers great strength and aids the storage and handling of large, single sided maps, plans and documents. It can be used in conjunction with matt lustre lamination or encapsulation in polyester film (see below).
Dissecting and mounting on linen: Used if flat storage space is limited, or the large format needs to be reduced to house in a pocket or protective case.
Lined with paper: Suitable support process for older maps or other single sided fragile documents. Allows safer handling and storage.
Encapsulation in polyester film: Excellent storage for valuable and delicate documents and maps. Allows clear visibility of both sides and protects in an airtight micro-climate. Encapsulated documents can be stored in suitable storage folders, boxes or drawers.
