How to prepare a consignment

refbooks_on_white2_150

After completing the details on the binding slip, place the top copy inside the front cover of the volume, retain the third copy (card) as a record of what has been sent out for binding and send the other duplicate to the bindery with a covering note stating the total number of volumes in the consignment as well as any other instructions not covered on the binding slip.

Once binding instructions have been completed for all the titles to be bound, pack them securely in the boxes we provide. If you need a fresh supply of these, please contact your bindery to arrange a dispatch. Similarly, if you require more binding slips or address labels, contact your bindery directly.

The duplicate copy will be returned with the invoice and will have the price inserted.

When completing the binding, slip mark the relevant sections with a tick and block out the instructions not required.

When you are ready to proceed with boxing your consignment (details of best practice packing). Attach an address label to each box before contacting your bindery to arrange a collection. Collections can generally be requested the day before you require it if you contact us before 13.00.

You will need to provide us with the following information when you contact us:

  • Contact name and telephone number
  • Full collection address including postcode.
  • The number of boxes in your consignment
  • Where on your premises the boxes will be left for collection

Our carrier will call on the arranged day to collect your consignment. Unless specified otherwise at the time of ordering a collection, all items will be delivered back to that address.
