The Mills Papers

The Mills papers are a 5 volume set of surrogate reference books created to replace originals that had become too fragile for regular handling and photocopying.

Our primary task therefore was to produce a secure binding that would withstand frequent usage, and keep the information in place and presentable for many years to come.

Each volume was printed in four colours on 130gsm Cyclustec. Cyclus tec is a recycled paper that has proven to be very popular for facsimile copies of local history material such as registers and directories.

The book was over-sewn, with the end papers added by hand. Grey Library Buckram was used to cover the case as this has a water resistant quality that adds to the durability of the case. The title has been foil blocked on the cover and the spine.
