Disaster Recovery Scheme
Our scheme is designed to provide salvage and restoration services in the event of your premises being affected by flood, fire, natural or man made disaster.
Headed by our Director of Conservation, John Penman, the scheme has been operational for over fifteen years and has, in that time, garnered the knowledge and experience to manage disasters of all sizes. Our team were responsible for recovering thousands of books and paper-based documents from the largest library fire the UK has ever seen in Norwich in 1994, as well as assisting businesses to recover in the aftermath of the Bishopsgate bomb in 1993.
More recently we have helped in clean up operations after the summer floods of 2007 and 2008, but we can also restore books that have been damaged by smoke, dirt, dust, sprinklers and water ingress or spillage.
